2026 Park IT Program

Sunrise Rotary marks second year supporting children with diverse needs and their families

On May 27, 2026, the Red Deer Rotary Sunrise Club was pleased to welcome JoAnne Hayden and her assistant Angela from the Aspire Child Development Centre to our weekly meeting. JoAnne shared Aspire’s inspiring vision for the future, including ambitious plans to secure land and develop a new community space that will expand services and opportunities for children and families throughout our region.

The presentation highlighted the incredible impact Aspire continues to make in our community and the exciting growth ahead. JoAnne expressed her appreciation for the club’s ongoing encouragement and support as Aspire works toward making this dream a reality.

Our club was also proud to present Aspire with a $10,000 cheque in support of the Aspire Park IT program for the 2026 summer season. This marks the second consecutive year that the Red Deer Rotary Sunrise Club has supported this inclusive and meaningful initiative, which provides free, sensory-friendly summer programming for children with diverse needs and their families.

The Aspire Park IT program is a free summer drop-in playgroup created by the Aspire Child Development Centre or children with diverse needs and their families. Hosted in parks throughout Red Deer and surrounding communities during July and August, the program features inclusive, sensory-friendly activities such as crafts, music, sports, games, and story time. Open to children of all ages and abilities, Aspire Park IT provides a welcoming space where children can build friendships and confidence while parents connect with other supportive families in the community. The program is completely free, requires no registration, and children attend alongside a parent or caregiver.
